CPL- Concealed Pistol License

This is not a puppy mill class with 30 other people!  We limit our class size to 12 so everyone is able to engage and learn.  You will enjoy this class!

This class meets the Michigan requirements to obtain your State of Michigan CPL License.  MCRGO certified instructional course. 

Learn the fundamentals, the law, the emotional aspects, and the basic marksmanship for everyday carry personal defense.

One year membership to Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners ($30 value) included.

 

Requirements
  • Be at least 21 years of age

  • Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language

  • Be able to legally obtain a pistol in the State of Michigan

  • Have enough shooting experience to qualify for defensive   marksmanship with a pistol.

Advanced Concealed Carry Skills
Level 1

This class goes deeper than the basic CPL class and we practice, practice, practice!  Carry modes & concealment, holster selection, presenting the pistol from concealment, presentation/position/movement, & more.  If you want to gain the confidence it takes to be comfortable using your pistol from concealment- this is your class.  

2 hours of live fire Range time.

 

Requirements
  • Be at least 21 years of age

  • Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language

  • Currently possess a Michigan CPL License -or- pass a pre-course   evaluation.

Advanced Concealed Carry Skills
Level 2

This class will introduce you to special shooting techniques: strong hand, weak hand, moving, rotation, speed reloads, working cover, low light conditions, & extended range shooting.  Train, train, train!  

Lots of live fire range time.  

 

Requirements
  • Be at least 21 years of age

  • Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language

  • Have taken LFTA Advanced Concealed Carry Skills, Level 1

Basics of Pistol Shooting

Learn how to shoot pistols properly.  Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience. 
Course topics include: safety, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook & course completion certificate.

 

Requirements
  • No age requirement.  Minors must be mature enough to handle firearms & be physically suited for live fire shooting.

  • Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language

Basics of Rifle Shooting

Learn how to shoot a rifle properly and accurately.  
Class covers rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and receive a course completion certificate.
Students will have supervised range instruction on proper rifle shooting positions and marksmanship.

Basics of Shotgun Shooting

Ever wanted to shoot Sporting Clays, Trap, or Skeet?  Hunt birds?
Learn how to shoot shotguns at moving targets.  Class covers rules for safe gun handling; shotgun parts and operation; shotgun shell components; shotgun shell malfunctions; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting at straight away and angled targets; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook, and a course completion certificate.  Students will have supervised range time shooting at moving clay targets from various angles.  This is a FUN class!

NRA Range Safety Officer

Become a NRA Certified Range Safety Officer.  
Teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.

 

Requirements
  • Be at least 14 years of age.

  • Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language

Metallic Cartridge Reloading

Teaches beginning reloaders the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to safely reload metallic cartridges.
Each student is taught reloading safety; centerfire cartridge components; using the reloading manual and reloading data; equipment; and the metallic cartridge reloading process. Students will receive the NRA Guide to Reloading handbook, the Basic Reloading Student Exam, a course completion certificate, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure.

Shotshell Reloading

Basics of the AR-15 Rifle

AR-15 101.  This class teaches how to operate and maintain the AR-15 rifle platform.  Safe operation, components, common malfunctions, cleaning, maintenance, and sight adjustments.  
If you've always wanted an AR-15 but don't know where to start... this class will give you the knowledge needed to make an informed decision.

  • Be at least 16 years of age.  Minors must be mature enough to handle classroom environment, safe handling of firearms, & mildly complex firearm disassembly.

  • Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language

AR-15 Armorers Course

Build your own AR-15 rifle.  
Learn all of the parts, what they do, how to assemble them correctly, test fire, and go home with your own AR-15 rifle that you built.
This class offers some customization.  Call to discuss customizing parts for your build.
